This year has been a challenge, hasn’t it? Honestly, I’m afraid to even guess what might come next.
But there has been a silver lining for me. Yesterday, I finished my huge, ugly mess of a 503 page first draft of SAVAGED DEVOTION, the final book in the Savaged Illusions Trilogy! As many of you know, I’ve struggled since the first day I could no longer raise my right arm due to bulging disks in my neck over two years ago. I don’t want to get into the long, boring story of my struggles. This is the simple version: Covid-19 happened, and in that nightmare, I found myself writing to cope, and able with hard work and intense concentration, to once again hear my characters voices. It’s an incredible gift in the midst of a pandemic and deeply troubling issues gripping our country. I am so very grateful.
I still have a lot of work to do. First I’ll print and read to make notes, and then rewrite. Once I do that, I’ll edit again to get it clean and when I’m sure I’ll be ready, I’ll reach out to my editors to see if they are willing to edit the book. So yeah, a lot to do.
But in this moment, I’m celebrating what feels like a massive achievement.

WOOHOO! You go, girl! :snoopydance: It is a massive achievement and you should celebrate the hell out of it. :throws sparkly confetti all over you: I’d bake you a cake, but by the time it got there it would be a pile of crumbs. I’m so happy for you. :HUGS:
My achievement is that I finally got under the deck weeded and the little walkway by the irises redone so it looks nice again. Baby steps, but it was something. Today, I’ll lay those pavers I found so under the deck has a nice border.

Achievements? I haven’t killed anyone. 😏 I released one book and have a second almost ready to go. And…that’s about it. I’m very proud of that first one. (And only slightly kidding, I’m afraid…🤣 Okay, I totally am joking.)
Anyway, there are always silver lingings if we look hard enough. Happy Hump Day, witches!

That is super fantastic news!!!! Have you and Wizard opened a bottle of wine to celebrate? If not, I will open one tonight and toast you :)!
My silver lining is I rarely go anywhere so I’ve saved a ton on gas ;). Funny how that gas money is no where to be found since groceries have gone up so much.
Tomorrow hubs and I are headed to Lowe’s to buy a new refrigerator. The current one is 20 years old and the ice dispenser flap on the door is broken and won’t close. I gorilla taped it 2 months ago but cold still gets out. My space is very small and there is only one ice dispensing side by side that will fit the spot. Lowe’s appears to be the only place that can get it to me before mid Sept. Go figure. Wish me luck tomorrow.

B.E., thanks! I have a lot to do still, but it’s nice to have the full story drafted. And cake…mmmmm!!! But yeah, by the time it arrived, it may not be as yummy.
I know you’ve been wanting to do that, so it is an achievement. Yay you for tackling the job!

Silver, than means a lot, thanks. Of course, I found a spot where I’d put in a note: “Put in sexy scene here.” LOL! I rarely do that, so I’d forgotten aobut it. But I’ll print and read, then decide what to cut and what to add or flesh out.
Not killing anyone is pretty major

I have to go look and see if I bought your new release. I haven’t read in a couple weeks due to eye strain, so it may have slipped by me. Congrats!!! That’s great news!

Viki, I had a little wine last night, but Wizard hasn’t been drinking much, so taost away! It’s just a step and I know I want to do some revisions, but it’s a big hurtle and feels great all the same.
Saving on gas is nice!
I hope you and hubs can find the perfect fridge. I so understand your space issue. We have a smallish space, plus an island so I can’t have a pull out freezer or any of that. Finding a simple side by side with ice and water dispenser is a challenge. Sending you positive vibes and oodles of luck that you’re able to get the perfect fridge at a great price.
