Happy Labor Day to everyone in the U.S.
Our weekend was HOT. It’s a blazing 115 degrees as I’m writing this on Sunday. No fires near us, but there are major fires throughout the state. One of my kids had to cut a weekend trip short due to a fire, but they are safe (and very wise).
I got through a big scene that’s the midpoint in the book revision, and feeling good. Lots more hard work to do but I’m on track now, and determined not to get derailed again. Discipline is as important as creativity in the writing process.
And I made my first ever key lime pie: Here it is cooling before I put it in the fridge to set:
So that was my weekend, how was yours?

I want that pie! YUM! (I love key lime!) Glad the kids are safe. Ugh on the weather and fires. Yay for the mid-point scene! You got this!!! There WAS a weekend, wasn’t there.
First Saturday is always busy–pancake breakfast at the Post, siren test, and Mex food with the kids. Jake got to go to all so he’s a happy puppers. Then it was home for Cards doubleheader and naps. Sunday was slow. Cards baseball. No nap for me.
My line edits for TWICE THE TEMPTATION, RDR#9, arrived Friday. Ugh. I do not like line edits, Sam I am. Not even with green eggs and ham. However, They’re due back Friday so upward and onward, with a mid-day break for lunch with the whole fam to celebrate BIL’s b-day.
Enjoy your Labor Day and hoping the heat dome moves off with this Canadian front that’s coming through here mid-week. I hope part of it catches y’all!

I love Key Lime Pie! Looks great!
Nice progress on revisions :). You must feel good knowing that you are getting through it.
I saw how hot it has been and continues to be out there and really feel for you. Sure glad you have air-conditioning.
Those fires are terrible and I can’t believe those idiots that started one of the fires with a gender reveal. People are so stupid! Seeing the 200+ people being evacuated by helicopter was very scary. I pray for all of you. So happy to hear that son and family cut their trip short and are all safe.
So Friday night our air broke. Youngest’s buddy who did our furnace came right out. He left by 8PM to come back first thing Sat. with the needed capacitors (damn chipmunks did it again). All is now good. The well should be tomorrow. My heaven am I glad we had really good jobs and saved money or we would really be up a creek. This has been one VERY expensive 3 weeks.
I sure hope you are having a lovely Labor Day! Hubs and I are about to have ribs :).

Silver, I feel much more secure in the revision now, so that’s something
Jake is a lucky boy to get to go, and a good dog! Hope you had fun at lunch.
Yeah line edits are a pain, but hopefully, they’ll go fast. Also, great title!
Hope you had a good day!

Viki, key lime pie was good last night, but I’m hoping if firmed up more overnight. If not, I’ll adjust the recipe somehow, but the flavor was good.
Yeah, that was sheer idiocy to set off any pyrotechnics. I think the gender reveal parties are silly anyway, but fine if people are so inclined and do a cake with a blue or pink center type thing. But this was more than foolish, it’s caused huge misery, destruction and potentially, harm or death. Sorry for the mini-rant, I’m a little angry
Yikes, you guys are having a serious run of expensive luck! Glad you were able to get tehr A/C working. HOpefully the well will be fixed tomorrow and your luck can turn to something like winning lotto. You’re due!
We’re having ribs too Enjoy!

Ooo, pie! Gah, sorry to hear you’re so hot over there. Stay indoors and stay safe over there. Yay for getting through the writing and being disciplined. Keep up the good work!
The weekend here was okay. I definitely envy you your discipline, because I didn’t do doodle with my own writing this weekend. Or today. Spreadsheety stuff can be blamed for some of it, but I need to get my buns back on track.
Have a great week! :hugs:

B.E., the pie turned out pretty good and the perfect dessert for the heat.
Spreadsheets deserve the blame Hope you can get back on track today, and that your week is off to a great start!
