Wizard Made Me Smile

Wizard made me smile yesterday. He went to Costco and bought four things.  The first three are boring items: Restocking water in case of earthquake, some low calorie ice creams bars we like to keep in the house, and vitamins for me. See boring and routine.

But the fourth item is what got to me. Wizard bought Maggie’s special treat bones, and he was really happy that he found them so we have a backup in case there are more shortages. In spite of my county having 10,949 new cases of Covid-19, the state sending out a text alert to stay at home if at all possible, this was something that made me smile. Wizard didn’t want a dog, and protested getting one for decades.

But he clearly loves our Maggie and takes care of her even during a pandemic :-)

What do you have to smile about today? I’d really love to hear it.

How could he not love Maggie? He’d have to be a total block of stone and you wouldn’t have been with him this long if he’d been that kind of guy.

This post made me smile. I got about 800 words out last night on a noir crime thing I started in September, so that makes me smile. Also last night, I whipped together a dinner that made me think it rivaled anything I could get at Olive Garden. Chicken and mushrooms in a creamy basil parmesan sauce over spaghetti noodles. And there are leftovers for today. =oD

Like B.E., your post made me smile. As did B.E.’s snippet from her crime noir thing she posted on my post today. Loki’s 6 am zoomies actually made me laugh. He came through the bedroom door, skirted the bed, leaped onto the headboard, dashed across the top, ran down the length of the bed and out the door. In like 2.1 seconds. Gotta love the furbabies. 🥰

That is SO very sweet of Wizard. I recall all the back and forth on a dog and Maggie won his heart🥰. But you know, we all have seen what a kind man Wizard is, so it is not surprising that he made the effort to get her favorite treat. You two girls have a good man.

The virus is making things so very difficult so whenever there is something to smile about we do.

On that note, the second Shingles shot did kick my butt. Every single side effect, I had it. I do not react well to shots. It’s probably due to all my auto-immune issues. The side effects for the Covid-19 shot are the same as the Shingle. Man, I hope they aren’t that bad because I will take the vaccine.

The insurance adjuster was supposed to be here this afternoon but since there is still snow on the roof, he is now coming Saturday morning. Boy I hope the roof is okay!

    Have a fantastic afternoon.

B.E., the 800 words is something to celebrate. Reading your chicken and mushrooms in a creamy basil parmesan sauce over spaghetti noodles made me hungry and smiley.

Your smiles cheered me up, thank you!

Edited to add: I just read your snippet on Silver’s blog–intriguing! Keep going!

Silver, I had to jump over to your blog, and loved your snippet with the landlady and Gunner. MORE!!! I also feel your frustration.

I love Zoomies! Maggie’s pretty funny when she does them, but Loki’s must be even more entertaining since cats are so agile.

Thanks for the smiles, I so needed them!

Viki, I really hoped you wouldn’t have such a harsh reaction to the second shot. If it helps, the report from an epidemiologist that I read said the Covid vaccine reactions documented so far have been less severe than the shingles shot (but more than the flu).

I’ll take the shot if I can, but I can’t get the shingles shot and the FDA hasn’t ruled yet that I’m aware of on that.

I hope your roof is okay too!
    I hjo
