When I’m deep in writing a book (I miss it!), I get distracted and dangerous. By distracted, I mean I do stupid stuff. And I’m usually only dangerous to myself, LOL.
Monday was like that. Only I’m not writing a book right now, but Wizard and I are working on projects that required us to come and go all day and keep track of a bunch of details. Finally we were home long enough for me to finish a load of laundry. I put another load in the dryer, and as I’m walked out of the laundry room, I reached back and pulled the door closed behind me.
On my finger.
It’s fine, just a blood blister and a little bruising on the end of my index finger. I don’t even know how I got the end of my finger in there. It should have been impossible, but I managed to contort myself into a position to achieve it. I mean we all have our talents, right? Ohh! Maybe I can blame yoga for this???
The funny thing is how much it reminded me of Writer’s Brain, which is a thing. When too many characters and plot lines take over our brains, we forget out to do simple things in a safe and logical order like: Step one: Remove all body parts from the area. Step two: Then close the door.
But there was no real damage, and I’ve been laughing at myself ever since
How about you guys? Any self-inflicted injuries from overloaded brains lately?

I saw a meme today that said “Yoga is just humans’ attempt at being cats” and showed a woman with one leg stuck in the air and a cat in front of her doing the leg-in-air-while-licking-fur thing. I thought of you. And yeah, I laughed. I AM sorry about your finger! I’ve done that. Sucks.
I tend to bang the back of my hands or my arms against stuff as I’m walking. I end up with red spots that I guess are basically blood bruises. There are times I don’t even realize I’ve done it until I look down and there’s an ugly red splotch on my skin. Ah well.
Happy Hump Day!

FYI, here’s the link to the meme. I had the wording wrong, but close enough. LOLOL https://cheezburger.com/9663727616/no-wonder-cats-are-egotistical

Ouch! Your poor finger. I am always banging the backs of my hands and closing my wrist in the door. I have never caused a blood blister to form on the tip of my finger. That must be a real pain in the butt. Go ahead and blame yoga . Love the meme Silver linked too .
My injuries are not from an overloaded brain but from being a klutz .
I’m making BLT’s tonight. Not really for us, but for Spunk. I promised him I’d make something this week that he liked and bacon is his favorite.
I hope you aren’t too awful hot this week. It’s looks like it’s going to be pool weather out your way.
Have a great afternoon!

Silver, LOL that’s a great meme! My finger looks worse than it it, so that’s a bonus. But I still don’t know how I got my finger in that door given the angle. I’m clearly talented
I find bruises the same way, or Wizard sees them. Isn’t it funny that we don’t even remember?? Maybe one day we’ll learn to be more careful, LOL.
Thanks for the Humans-doing-yoga-to-be-like-a-cat laugh! And hope you stay bruise free for awhile

Viki, oh wow, closing your wrist in a door has to hurt. The blood blister is on the side of the my finger, which makes it less annoying that if it were on the actual tip. It’s right on the inside by the tip of the nail bed. I bandaged it this morning to do Yoga and it was fine. But I’m avoiding actually cleaning for a couple days.
It’s easy to be klutzy when we are paying attention to what we’re doing.
Spunk must be so excited! I bet he loves the smell of the bacon frying (or however you cook it). I love that you’re having BLTs just to give him a treat
The weather is hot today, but still bearable. I don’t love it in February. Enjoy your BLTs!!

No sure how I missed this yesterday. And it’s a post made for me. Darn it. Sorry to hear about your finger. It’s the worst when it’s your hands.
I do so much ungraceful stuff that most of the time I don’t even think about it afterwards, so it’s hard to pinpoint the most recent events. Burns, bruises, scratches, scrapes, cuts… My life has been a journey of ouchies and my body is the map. LOL

B.E., Thanks on my finger. I finally broke the blood blister, so I can function better. It’ll heal.
Same here on ungraceful stuff. I only remember the truly weird things like this one. Some of your stuff though is from doing all the work outside, it’s easy to lose your footing or slip on uneven ground.
Hope you’re having a great day!
