I’m Here!

Hey I didn’t mean to disappear! So I had a post for Monday set, but it didn’t post and I didn’t realize it until late in the day. Then Tuesday my website went down due to a technical problem with my server, so I couldn’t get a blog up for today. But now my website it back and I’m here!

The weeks have been a bit turbulent lately due to some stress or illnesses with people we love. Wizard and I are fine though. However, we’re distracted or running around a lot these days. That’s one of the reasons I hadn’t even checked until late Monday to see if my blog had posted.

In better news, we got in to see our house yesterday! Both Wizard and I are very happy. It still needs a few things; a few cabinet doors, the oven and cooktop installed (they have it already), and some final touches here and there. But it all looks on schedule for now. One of the big things we were worried about was the floors. Like most people, we live on a budget and couldn’t afford the floors we’d hoped for. That’s not a big deal in the scheme of things, but our choices were so limited we were worried we’d hate it. However, we were pleased and relieved. Now we can wait until we can afford floors and not be upset that we bought a new house and hate the floors. And after all the granite agony, we’re happy with the look of it!

We really needed that little lift yesterday. Especially with the oppressive heat.

So how are you?

Happy Wednesday!

Your heat is AWFUL! And I’m so sorry the heat dome is stuck over the top of you. I wish it would shove off in to the ocean because we sure don’t want/need it back this way! Yay for the peek and being pleased. Hopefully, things are still on track for a late-month move-in. Your buyers are incredibly kind. Sorry also for all the upset and stress. Hopefully things will resolve for the best. I just figured you’d taken Monday off, being a holiday and all. Today, I was getting a bit antsy and was about to click on your site to see if my feed just hadn’t picked up your post but there you were! Yay!

Not much to pass on here. It’s warm but not oppressive. We’re still above normal but as long as we aren’t in triple digits, we’ll get buy.

The James Gang gathered for dinner Monday night at a place called Hide-away Pizza. It started as a college town hangout up at OSU, where both boys went, and then expended down here to the Metro. My only complaint is the accoustics. When you’re old and hard of hearing anyway, the noise level makes conversation a strain. But everyone likes the food and the company is always appreciated and we got to celebrate the birthday boys.

I wish I could say I was going great guns on either the WIP or the revisions but my brain keeps shorting out. It’s a bummer but it is what it is. I gave up yesterday and went to lay down, then woke up 3 hours later. I slept so hard I gave myself a headache. I don’t know whether to  or šŸ¤£

Hang in there, all. the week is half over! The dudettes shall abide!

Hi Jenn! I just figured you were busy and you were šŸ˜Š.

So sorry to hear that you have had illness with those you love to deal with. It’s so stressful and with all the other “little” things (like a new house) you must feel overwhelmed at times.

Nice that you like the floors and that things really seem to be coming together with the house. It sure must have been a nice lift to you and Wizard’s spirits. Is the end of the month when all is supposed to be complete?

That heat is horrible! It has to be very hard on all of you. Poor Maggie must be having a hard time with walks. I can’t imagine it is really cooling down much at night. You’re a wonderful “mom” and we know that Maggie is very happy with alternative exercise if needed.

Hubs got back from TN Sunday afternoon. He had too much fun but was exhausted too.

I hope it cools down a bit and that you have a nice afternoon.

Silver, we’re all ready for a break from the heat! Amen on our buyers. We offered them a big jump in rent but it was well worth it to not have to move twice. We are sincerely thankful to them.

I’m really happy to hear you all had fun at Hide-away pizza celebrating the boys birthdays. But you have my sympathy on the noise! I’m getting harder of hearing with the tinnitus and can’t always sort voices/words from any surrounding noise. Bet you were tired after that! It always wears me out.

Ugh on the crappy sleep patterns. I wish I could help but I don’t have any magic for that. Or how to keep our brains focused on the task at hand like writing. It just gets harder and any kind of exterior stress will add to it. I hope things turnaround for you on that ASAP!

    Happy Wednesday!

Viki, thank you. We are actively trying not to feel overwhelmed. The house we are focusing on as a joy as much as we can. We really are happy about it. The only stress is getting it closed by the end of the month, but I’m pretty confident that will happen. Otherwise, is all that we’ve been hoping for (with the usual compromises of budget vs dreams, LOL).

Right now our projected close date is the end of the day on Sept 22nd.

It’s been 85 or 90 at night when I take Maggie out at 9pm, and that’s unusual. Maggie and I only walk about 6:30, it’s light enough and still warm, but not blistering. She’ll chase lizards still but I limit her time in the heat :-)

I was thinking of your hubs and Harrison when Wizard and Turbo were trading lunches and ice cream bars this week. It was so cute, Turbo wanted everything Grandpa had, and it popped into my head that Harrison is probably pretty much the same with his grandpa.

    I hope you’ve had a great day!

I did wonder where you’d gotten yourself to, but I figured you were busy with the holiday weekend and your pending move. I’m glad everything’s okay with you two. Yay for getting to see how your house is coming along. It won’t be too much longer to wait, eh?

Things here are busy. Crazypants day at work yesterday, but things were way better today. And it was cool enough that I got to wear this super cute top I bought in ‘don’t mess with me’ red. It was my battle armor in case today was as bad as yesterday, if that makes any sense. ;o) I didn’t need it, but I felt awesome in it.

B.E., thanks and sorry for disappearing. I thought about posting of fb, but never followed through.

Sorry for the crazy work day yesterday. And it’s awesome to have a power color! It makes complete sense to me. We all need those articles of clothing that give us a boost. Hope the rest of the week is better!
