Weekend Roundup

We had a pretty good weekend aside from the thunderstorms/humidity. It’s supposed to dry out this week, and my hair is very excited about that, LOL. So are my joints.

Saturday we had CPA Boy, Special K and Turbo over, and had so much fun, probably for the last time in this house. The guys and Turbo went in the pool and were surprised that it was almost cold. The water has been about 88 to 90 degrees for weeks, but in the last two days, it dropped significantly. It didn’t bother Turbo any as he showed off his learning-to-swim skills. After that, Wizard made his special smoked hamburgers, we had ice cream then we walked over to the elementary school so Turbo could ride his bike. That bike is a hand me down that his other grandpa fixed up for him and put on training wheels, which makes it even more special as he learns to ride.

While at the school, Turbo saw a picture of the school mascot — a dinosaur. So he decided it must be a school for dinosaurs (obviously!) and we looked for them everywhere. We never did find them, but we got to see the field where the dinosaurs play soccer :-) The image of dinosaurs playing soccer cracked me up. I love this age!

Sunday was a bit quieter. And it was 9/11 which is a sober memory.

The movers are scheduled for two weeks from today! Hopefully all goes as planned and we get the keys the Friday before that.

How was your weekend?

Yay for moving day approaching! Yay for time with family and fun with extra-imaginative Turbo!

The weekend was nice. It was quiet and not much of note went on, which was perfect for decompressing after the work-week. I made zucchini bread for Hubs. And did the grocery shopping. Yay.

Turbo is too cute! Yay for rain even if you have to deal with the frizzies and aches. Y’all needed rain AND cool off. Yay for family time and one last pool party. We avoided the news all weekend. My PTSD appreciated it. Still, sad day. 😟

The weekend was mostly quiet here. Stormy had his first fall soccer game. Lots of new kids on the team and sadly, only he and his BFF have any experience. There’s a few who will pick up the play easily. There’s a few that we just smiled and nodded over. After the game, his parents took him to get new soccer cleats. The pair he was wearing were bought this past spring. He now wears a men’s size 8. πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ We hope his school uniforms will last until at least Christmas!

I got RESCUE MOON finished and uploaded to D2D and the ‘Zon. It releases the 19th and is already “live” for preorder at ‘Zon, Apple, Kobo, and a couple of European stores. The ‘Zon has totally revamped the process. I ended up with a headache and went to bed to watch the Cards game and nap.

I did get the nap in but not until AFTER the game. It was edge-of-the-seat from the 5th on. Pujols got 497 homeruns, passing A-Rod to be 4th all-time.

Not much else happened. College football–my Cowboys won, Cards baseball, work, and Stormy. And a couple of naps, which were sorely needed. Pete antics will wait until Friday. *bwahaha*

Off to Wallyworld here in a short, then Starbucks, then home to get started on SEAL MOON. Gotta get it up because I hope to release it on the 24th, one week after RESCUE MOON. They go live on a Monday so we’ll see how that goes when live sales happen.

    Have a great week, all!

I’m glad it’s supposed to be less humid. Your hair will be very happy.

You know, kids can swim in any temperature. They just love to be fish😊. Sounds like Saturday was a HUGE fun day. The looking for dinosaurs is precious.

Yesterday was a somber day all around. Here is was rainy too so it just set the stage.

Oh WOW – 2 weeks for the movers. Now that’s exciting!

Last week I bought a new hummingbird feeder. It arrived Thursday afternoon so I cleaned and put it out Friday. The thing was empty in the morning which bugged me. I went out on the deck and there were raccoon prints all over the place. The little bugger is getting up on the rail at night tilting the feeder and drinking all the water through the little hummingbird feed holes. I am now only filling the feeder 1/4 so that I am not giving to coon too much.

My bestie is coming up from NC tomorrow for two weeks to help her daughter who is taking on a new job. My bestie will have so much fun getting to do grandma stuff.

I have to go help hubs pick his insurance for this year. It should be simple for retired people and just cover everything.

I hope you have a great afternoon!

B.E. thanks we are excited to get into the house and live life again.

I’m glad you were able to decompress a bit this weekend. And zucchini bread is always a win! Grocery shopping is just something we have to do, but now it’s done for the week.

Hope your week is off to a good start!

Silver, we definitely need the rain, and it helped the big fire nearby which is a big win. I didn’t watch much news coverage on 911 but I always remember that it happened, and how damn hard our agencies are working to prevent this kind of thing as much as possible. I’m glad you were able to manage your PTSD too.

Yay for soccer and hopefully the team shapes up. It’s luck of the draw (usually, LOL). But WOW Stormy wears a size 8???? I’m impressed! If he’s growing that much, you might have to change your expectations on how long his school uniform will last from Christmas to Halloween :-)

Congrats on getting RESCUE MOON finished and double congrats on getting it uploaded! I’ll go look for it today! Ugh on the problems getting it uploaded. Change like that tends to be headache inducing. Hope the edge-of-your-seat game and nap helped!

I can’t wait to hear Pete’s latest shenanigans on Friday!

Viki, it’s true on kids swimming in any temp! I was really more surprised than bugged by it :-) The dinosaur school was so cute. I can honestly say all the times I took Maggie to that school to work on her training, it never once occurred to me that it could be a school for dinosaurs!

Raccoon are so smart and resourceful, but it looks like they are no match for you! I totally am on Team Viki and the Hummingbirds here!

Oh wow, it seems like your best friend’s daughter just had her baby (if I’m remembering that right one). I’m sure it’s been longer though. It is awesome of your friend to come help her for two weeks. And she’ll get all that special time with her grandchild!

Man I wish it was that easy for retired people! Wizard has his all sorted, and I buy private insurance (until I’m the right age to switch). None of it is easy! Good luck to you and hubs finding the right plan for him.

I hope all is going well so far this week!
