Weekend Roundup

The weekend came and went exactly as the calendar promised, and overall it was a good one for us. And it’s been nice weather!

Friday we had the walk through of the new house. There’s just a few minor things fixed or finished, and everything looks to be on schedule. We are excited about that, and going through pretty typical frustrations of trying to get various arms of the process to give us info or dates. That is very normal, but aggravating as one glitch can start the dominos of delay. But we are pretty confident that everything will happen as planned.

Saturday I went to Kohls and bought new towels for one bathroom. I couldn’t make a decision on colors for the second bathroom, LOL! I just stood there debating until I realized that the store would still be there after we moved in and I had a better feel for it. And because I wasn’t looking for clothes at all, I stumbled on three long-sleeved shirts I really liked and bought those. After than exciting excursion, I came home and packed. No matter how much we pack, the second we fall asleep, more crap materialized in the dark. It’s like ghosts are going to vampire garage sales and refilling our cupboards or something.

Sunday I did more endless chores then we took Maggie to Home Depot to buy granite sealer. Maggie was so intrigued by the huge Halloween witches and  other assorted characters that were inflated and talking. People were watching her staring at the decorations and trying to figure out if they were friend or foe. It was my laugh for the weekend! Plus it got her out of the house too.

How was your weekend?

Yay for nice weather! Fingers crossed that everything stays on schedule with your house. LOL about the garage-sale loving ghosts. That’s as good an idea as any for why stuff keeps appearing. Ghosts or a pocket dimension. Yay for Maggie!

The weekend was too short. Last night I was all like ‘tomorrow’s Monday? how can it be Monday already?’ I need at least another day off, but no such luck. Time to put on my armor, hoist my weapons, and wade back into the fray. Anyway, the weekend was okay. I spent the majority of it reading and watching TV…. so basically vegetating.

Maggie is too precious! Yay for your nice weather. The heat dome came back this. Ugh. It never fails–you always find something when you aren’t looking. Glad it was a good weekend and truth! Ghosts DO shop vampire garage sales and lug stuff home to stack up. I know this to be a fact. ;)

We had double-header soccer games Saturday morning. Stormy’s team won one, lost one, but he made some goals and stopped stome when he played goalie. It wasn’t too bad in the morning but by the time we got home, we were ready to hide under the AC. I got some work done. There was baseball and football. My Cards took the 5-games series against the Reds 4-1. OSU won, too. That would be the REAL OSU. I felt sorta sorry for Univ. of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Our offense made 4 touchdowns in the first quarter.

More work on Sunday and then a late nap followed by ice cream for dinner. Worked for me!

I may have to delay the preorder release on the next book by a day or two. I’m still about 30 pages from being done, then backmatter and formatting before uploading. Time just gets away from me and I can only read for so long before my eyes start to act up. Getting old sucks.

    Have a great week, all!

This keeps happening where I write replies and they just disappear when I hit submit :(.

    Here we go again –

Glad the walk through went well and that only minor stuff showed up. I’m praying all continues and schedule and runs smooth.

Harrison and family go to their house every day now and walk through it. The kid id SO excited.

I can see myself doing the same thing with the towels but never reaching the correct conclusion. I’d end up buying something and hope for the best.

Good job on the shirts. Never pass up a good find.

It’s going to get super cool here buy the end of the week. I cannot wait. I am in the mood for spiced cider in the worst way.

Sure hope you have a fantastic afternoon!

B.E., thanks for the finger crossing! It helps!

I bet your weekends go way too fast now. But I’m also glad you are finding time to relax and vegetate since your job is pretty high demand. Hope you have a great week at the office!

Silver, it almost always happens that I stumble into clothes when I’m not looking. Ghosts are troublesome like that :-)

Yay for Stormy doing so well in soccer (despite one game being lost of the two) and for getting home before the serious heat it.

Happy for your teams that one!

Good call on the nap and ice cream for dinner.

You’re doing all you can on the preorder, and I don’t think it’ll be a problem to delay it. I got your first preorder today or maybe it was yesterday? I just know it’s on my Kindle waiting!

    Happy Monday!

Viki I’m so sorry your replies keep disappearing. I don’t know why that’s happening.

Aww Harrison is so cute, and seeing his house build from the ground up is pretty exciting. I hope he loves it once it’s all done and they move it! I also hope it all goes according to schedule for them.

I’m pretty happy with just getting the towels for our bathroom at this point.

Yay for the cooler weather heading your way! It’ll be nice to switch into “fall-mode”. I hope you enjoy lots of spiced cider!

Hope you’re have a great Monday and a great week!
