Weekend Roundup

So the whole “atmospheric river” label feels pretty accurate. We had a lot of rain on Saturday, a bit of a break on Sunday (while I’m writing this) them more rain moving in overnight and through Monday. It’s been years since we’ve seen this much rain! Maggie, however, is so interested in the changes in the back yard with the retaining walls and planters, she could care less about the rain. She’s out there investigating as much as I’ll let her. Then when she comes in, she gives me a look of utter disbelief that I insist on drying her off and cleaning her feet. As soon as I release her from that particular indignity, she runs to Wizard and sits by him as if he will keep her safe should I decided to assault her again with my unreasonable insistence that she not track mud and cement reside on my carpet.

In some good news, it was dry enough for Wizard to go to Monster Jam with Turbo and his family. The bad news is I’m home writing this while they are there :-(  I haven’t been feeling my best and didn’t want to slow anyone down.  However, I’m sincerely happy that Wizard went. From the pics I’ve seen so far, they are all having a great time. I am not sick, just dealing with some physically crap that’s limiting my ability to do all the things I want to do. I have to see my doctor this week for a boring routine thing, so I’ll bring it up to him and we’ll figure out how to tame it.

And in news I don’t even know how to categorize — one of our Sherriff’s deputies was shot and killed as he answered a call on Friday evening. We, along with all the community, are sickened and outraged. It’s always hard to believe when it happens so close to home, but sadly, it’s happening everywhere these days. We are particularly heartbroken for his family, friends and coworkers.

Oh and my hiking shoes came. I think they’ll work!

So that was my weekend, how was yours?

Seeing all these officers getting murdered sickens me. I’m sorry it happened in your area. It’s happening way too often in too many places.

And onward to more pleasant things… Yay for your hiking shoes! Yay for Wizard getting to go to Monster Jam! Bummer about all the rain, but yay for Maggie getting to investigate the goings-on anyway, even if she does have to suffer through the indignity of having her feets cleaned.

Not much going on around here. I did a Wallyworld trip, got gas, stopped for deer food. Hubs and I wandered around the yard for a while. I bought a couple new CDs and while I’m waiting for them to arrive, I can listen to them on my computer. I also ordered my favorite soap, which I can only find online now – Lever 2000 aloe and cucumber. It should be here before my last bar becomes too small to use and I have to break out backup soap. Otherwise, I spent a lot of time reading. =o)

So sorry about your deputy! I saw that on the news and was sad, too. Way too many of our finest are going down in the line of duty. It sickens me for many reasons but I won’t get political here. Maggie’s in her element even if she has to be dried and feets cleaned. Remind her that’s the price of investigation. ;) Yay for hikers and frankly, I would have been happy to stay home from Monster Jam, but that’s just me. LG can take his hearing aids out. Glad Wiz, Turbo, and family had fun. Get better soon! Hope your doc can figure it out.

About the only thing we did this weekend was go to Stormy’s soccer game Saturday evening. He played well. I worked a little and vegged a lot. I need to veg less and work more. LOLOL I didn’t even sleep in or get naps. Ah well.

Today is Wallyworld run and Stormy is out of school but Baseball Boy has practice so we’ll get the “terror” from about 10 to 2. On that note, I need to put on real clothes and get ready to adult. Not my idea of a fun Monday. ;)

    Have a great week all!

I am so happy that Turbo and Wizard were able to go to Monster Truck. As I’ve stated before, I know Turbo had a great time. I’m sur Wizard did too 😊. Sorry you we not feeling well enough to go along. You do have to take care of you.

I can so easily picture Maggie’s indignant face as you cleaned her feet. She worked hard getting that stuff on her paws in all the right places. Thank goodness she has Wizard as her “safe” place 😂.

It’s really good that the retaining walls are up. With all that rain I worry about you guys.

I saw the news very early Saturday morning and was so saddened. That poor man’s family. And not just his but all of the families of officers that have been murdered. I’m really beginning to wonder if the only way to stop the open season on police is to seriously make the killer pay.

I made it through the weekend.

Today my computer stopped working. After several unplugs and re-starts it’s finally going. Looks like I will have to get a new one soon.

Sure hope you have a fantastic day.

B.E., it is happening too much. I have all kinds of feelings, but it’s best right now just to be supportive of his family and our law enforcement folks, while honoring his life and career right now.

Maggie is hilarious, she tried (and failed!) to dart passed me today and Wizard unhelpfully laughed.

The deer must be so amazing to see, and I think it’s awesome you give them the right food. And of course you must have the right music to fully enjoy the moment.

I can so relate on the soap thing. When we reach a certain age, we know what we like!

Hope this week at the office isn’t as crazy as last week!

Silver, a lot of us feel the same. I think of his and his family daily. The community is sickened by this and hopefully showing our support for the family and law enforcement.

I’m just happy that Maggie’s loving the back yard. She even find all the gravel laid for the concrete pour to be interesting. As for Monster Jam, Wizard had a blast! While I really am disappointed cuz I wanted to go at least once, I’m so pleased Wizard got to spend the day with Turbo and his family.

I hope the doc can figure it out too, thanks. I don’t want to whine, so we’ll move onto your weekend.

Stormy seems to be developing into a very good soccer player! Keep telling yourself the the vegging state is your subconscious working on writing :-)

Walmart on Monday just seems mean :-) I do shop for things at Walmart, but I have to go in the morning before I think too much about what I’m doing, LOL. Hope you were able to get that done, and had a fun few hours with Stormy!

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Viki, Turbo, his parents and Wizard got to go in the pits at Monster Jam, so it was a big day. Turbo got to meet his favorite drivers too. You were totally right!

Thanks I’m doing everything I know to get better. Well see what my doc says on Wednesday. He’s got to be so tired of me. I’m tired of me :-)

We are fine so far. It’s freaking hearing the water rushing down out of the hills, but the water is following the streambed and all is well. It’s so pretty out there — just breathtaking right now.

It’s heartbreaking every single time law enforcement officers are killed or injured. It needs to be unacceptable.

I’m glad you made it through the weekend. I get the sense that things have been hard and I hope they are easing up some. Hope your mom, brother and hubs are all improving as much as possible for each of them.

Ugh on your computer! We always wait too long to replace ours even with all the warnings like what you’re going through. But it’s such a pain, plus the $$. Hope your computer hangs on until you’re ready to tackle a new one.

    Happy Monday!
