Weekend Roundup

So I ordered a freeze dried mature sourdough starter :-) Rye-N is still alive….I think. But I screwed up his feeding yesterday due to my trying to do too many things at once. I think he might survive my boneheaded move with a little extra care and a few more days. But when I saw my daughter-in-law this weekend, she recommended this particular starter so I figured I’d hedge my bets :-)

Anyhow, the weekend was good. Busy, of course, but we seem to thrive on that lately, LOL. Saturday morning we had some people over to sign some papers. It wasn’t anything big, just finalizing a few things on our house. But they are dog lovers and Maggie made two new best friends! She loved them. Then later, we took Maggie and went to see middle and his wife. Maggie was thrilled to see even more people she loves. We had a lovely afternoon just hanging out, playing with Jett and Hazel (my two grand dogs) and and visiting. Maggie was tired when we got home!

Sunday I did a bunch of things that are boring to talk about. I did run by youngest’s house to say hello and visit Phoebe (another grand dog).

This is going to be another busy week, but better than being bored!

How was your weekend?

Aww, bummer about Rye-N. I hope he makes it. Yay for finding a starter you don’t have to raise from scratch, though. Yay for visits with family and pups.

We didn’t do much this weekend, as usual. Yesterday, I spent most of the day watching a marathon of the 2014 season of Ink Masters. Which was interesting despite the fact I’m not into tattoos. I also did my Saturday errands. Mostly, though, I laid around doing nothing.

Let’s go, Rye-N! You can do it! And hey, I’m all for adoption when it comes to raising starters. Just sayin’… Doggos! And Dog folks! FTW!

First game of spring soccer on Saturday. Weather was perfect. New players on the team mixed in with a tiny few of previous teammates. Stormy played well in all three positions and scored the only goal for the win! Next week is supposed to be cold and yucky but the Kids will be in Ireland for the school spring break study trip so we get to stay warm and snug.

Watched some OSU Cowgirl softball, listened to the games not televised. Watched part of the Cardinal game but gave up when they were not playing so hot. Spring training. The wheels will fall off. It’s a fact of early sports.

The James Gang all congregated at the local pizza place that has become our family go-to as they can easily accomodate Aunt Hooie’s wheelchair and Jake, along with 6 adults and a kid. Everyone had pizza, I had chicken Caesar salad. Good time had by all.

I wish I’d managed a nap or two. Ah well! LOL Have a great week, all!

I’m pulling for Rye-N too. Hope he comes back. The freeze dried starter sounds like a great idea.

You had a busy weekend. Maggie must have been so worn out from all the fun she had visiting with people.

I’m hoping this posts. Fingers are crossed.

B.E, my guess is Rye-N will be fine with more feedings to make up for my mistake :-) I don’t want to become known as the yeast killer, LOL.

Sounds like you got out of your comfort zone with Ink Masters! Always good to do if it catches your interest. I’ve seen that show on my guide, but never watched it (mostly because I have the attention span of a severely over-caffeinated Chihuahua).

Hope your week started off well!

Silver, adoption is a good option for sure. Why I even want two starters is a question for armchair therapists :-)

Sounds like a great kickoff for soccer! And wait, your kid and family are going to Ireland???? Did I read that right? Cause if true, that’s awesome.

I’m sure the Cardinals will pull it together.

Yay for favorite pizza places that accommodate all the family and various needs. Those good times are truly priceless.

    Happy Monday!

Viki, your comment appeared to post fine from my end, and I didn’t get any technical glitch notices. I’m fairly sure it’s the server, and for boring reasons, I just haven’t been ready to deal with that issue.

Rye-N looks like he’ll be okay. I just forgot to discard before feeding. So i feel like a few days of more precise feedings should make up for that. He’s nearly “mature” so there’s more room for error (that’s my best guess since I’m still very new at this, LOL).

Maggie was tired, but she’s always up for seeing people and dogs. She’s so much more social now, plus she loves going in the car.

I really hope you had a good weekend and have an even better week!
