Weekend Roundup

We had a nice Easter celebration at home with just the two of us and Maggie, and that was perfect. We’ve been running around a lot, and it was nice to take a break.

Friday, we took Maggie out to see Wizard’s mom. Although we weren’t there that long, it took most of the day. Saturday we went out to see a friend, and met her adorable grand daughters. They were so cute. And she had dogs! Dogs always bring me so much happiness.

Sunday, I didn’t sleep so I was tired, but determined not to let that ruin our day. We went to breakfast, and then I planted my little herb garden. I hope it does okay, the herbs didn’t look that great, but the selection was slim. I also made some chocolate covered strawberries just to make the day a little more special. Oh and Maggie got to go to Home Depot with me to get my plants. Two car trips in one weekend is pretty exciting for Maggie :-). In fact, one day a week or so ago, I loaded her up in the back seat of the car for another plant buying trip when a neighbor needed to talk Wizard and me for a couple minutes. I opened the back door to make sure Maggie had air, and she must have thought I was going to call her out. She immediately curled up on the farthest corner and pretended she didn’t see me. I just laughed, then assured her we were still going and she didn’t have to get out of the car. She’s so ridiculous sometimes, LOL.

As boring as my description sounds, we did have a really nice weekend. Now I’d love to hear yours!

A peaceful Easter Sunday with just Wizard and Maggie sounds nice. You have been very busy lately.

Did Maggie go with you to see Wizard’s mom? I think I recall you saying some time ago that she really likes Maggie.

That’s fantastic about your friend and having dogs. You can tell a lot about people by their pets and how they are treated.

Oh man I LOVE Maggie’s personality 😍. She is one smart cookie.

My weekend was busy. They took my mom in to the hospice hospital Saturday. She was in really bad shape but they got her on an IV and in the past two days she has eaten a banana (SUN) and oatmeal (MON) and kept it down. They think they will be sending her home in a couple days. They will set up a hospital bed in her living room. No more trying to go upstairs. The one nurse thinks she only has a couple signs of being near death and probably has two more weeks in her.

Yesterday I cooked the ham dinner and the broccoli soup. All turned out great. I did not like the crust on the cheesecake. It needed more butter.

The weather has been beautiful here. Until today it was still chilly but today it is 65F. By Friday we will be 80F and still sunny. Rain will show up this Sunday and the temperature will drop back into the 40’s where it belongs. The warm weather is a treat to be enjoyed.

I hope you have a fantastic day!

Love the haircut! Happy Belated, Wiz! Hope it was an awesome day for you! Pretty yard. Yay for MiL time, little girl and dog time, and Maggie is such a sweetheart! And funny.

Vicki, I’m so terribly sorry about your mom. These times are so hard on everyone but hopefully, her passing at home will be peaceful.

And yeah, I’m still breathing. LG and I both relapsed. This crud bug is totally insidious. Hopefully, I’ll actually have 5 things for Friday. LOLOL Needless to say, we did nothing but stay down, nap, watch softball and baseball on TV, and LG felt good enough to get out Saturday night to go grab our usual from Golden Chick. That was the first “real” meal we’d eaten in two weeks. LOL

    Have a great week, all!

Viki, yes Maggie went with us and brought my mother-in-law a lot of joy. Maggie also proved to the non-believers that yes, she could and would jump a three foot block wall to an elevated planter while chasing a lizard.

Sounds like your Easter dinner turned out great. Well except that you weren’t happy with the cheesecake crust. Was it a graham cracker crust or something else?

It’s nice that you’re getting a little of Spring’s warmth! It’s pretty warm here right now.

I’m so sorry you’re mom is reaching the hospice stage. It does sound like she’s getting weaker, and not being able to eat doesn’t help. Like Silver below, I really hope your mom has a gentle and peaceful passing when her time comes, and that you and your family are comforted by your lifetime of memories.

Hope you have a good evening.

Silver, thanks so much on my hair and the rest.

I suspected you and LG may have had a relapse. That really sounds miserable, but I’m glad your both recovering enough to go get something to eat. I hope your recovery now is fast and you’re back to full energy ASAP! Being sick sucks.

    Have a great week!
