Blooper Alert: I only just now realized this blog didn’t post. And when I investigated, I saw that I selected August 10th instead of today’s date of August 7th. So yep, I’m late and obviously wasn’t wearing my glasses when I set the date, LOL!! Happy Monday!
I had a pretty nice weekend!
Friday Biker Witch took me to lunch for my birthday and we had a good time. I appreciate having her in my life more than I can ever express. We did a little fun shopping, then we got a cookie and some coffee. Guys, I tried an iced coffee with macadamia milk and I’m so in love. It was better (to me) than the cookie! I am now thinking of buying some macadamia nut milk, but I don’t want to make iced coffee every day, and I would if I had that in the house 
Saturday we went to dinner with youngest and his wife. I ordered my favorite chicken while Wizard rolled his eyes. In his opinion, I order chicken too much. Ah well, he survived and we all had a nice evening. Then when we were leaving, we ran into Wizard’s sister, her husband and her adult daughter. That was a bonus to see them!
Sunday, Wizard went racing. His eyes aren’t quite fully back to 100%, but good enough for him to have fun (and to safely drive). If he can’t race, he plans to announce, which he also really enjoys. I stayed home with Maggie, then went out to Marshalls to spend a gift card. I got a few things, including a couple Halloween decorations which I haven’t bought in years. But the thing I’m most excited about is a purple Halloween mug covered in dogs dressed in costumes. Good thing I get up before Wizard or he’d steal my new mug for sure! Full disclosure — it didn’t occur to me to buy him one as I was in line when I saw it and had to have it since it was less than $5.00
So that was my weekend. Now I’d really love to hear about yours!

What a wonderful weekend you had!
Fun time with Biker Witch is the best! Your iced coffee sounds really yummy. I love macadamia nuts and can only imagine how good the milk tastes. If you do buy it, why don’t you freeze single servings. That way you won’t have to drink it all quickly.
I’m like you and seem to order my favorites and never go off course. What a plus running into Wizard’s sister and family.
It’s great to hear that Wizard is healing well and can go racing again. He must have been missing it like crazy.
God shopping buys and heck, count the cup as a personal birthday present š.
My weekend went okay. Dinner Saturday with A&A and C&C was nice. We went to C’s house first and I got to give all the grand pups treats.
I went to Trader Joe’s today. I only bought a few things and a bunch of cards. August is the BIG birthday month in my family and I have to start mailing them out tomorrow.
I haven’t bought the boots yet. I keep talking myself out of them since I really don’t need them.

Fun weekend! How awesome to spend time with family. And yay for Wiz getting to race. That sounds like an adorable cup! Maybe you should be on the lookout for something similar for Wiz.
Suggestion on the coffee–brew a pot and refrigerate it in a sealed container. Make “ice cubes” with the macademia nut milk (you can store them in a plastic freezer bag once frozen in the ice tray and that way the “milk” doesn’t expire). Then, when you want an iced coffee, pour the coffee over a bit of ice and add your “nut” cubes to melt for flavor.
The Kids had to make an emergency trip up the turnpike. Things took a turn for the worse and now poor Baseball Boy is having to deal with paperwork and things if worse comes to worse. Things are still up in the air. Then siren test was cancelled due to a pop-up thunderstorm right over the suburb where the sirens are. LOL Anyway, I stayed home and worked so no BBQ.
Sunday was our anniversary but LG had a bad night so he slept in and we pretty much piddled away the day, then I laid down and fell aslep until after 8 so no dinner out. Ah, the joys of a long and understanding marriage! š

Viki, thanks it was a nice weekend. Great tip on freezing the macadamia nut milk! Now I just need to find it somewhere in my area.
And yeah, Wizard really has missed racing. He didn’t have a great racing day, but he had a good overall time and that’s what counts.
I’m glad the dinner was nice and yay for pup time!
Good on Trader Joes! I haven’t seen cards at mine, but I’m glad yours has them. Hope you found other items that you enjoy!
I still think you should buy the boots. Winters get cold and it sounds like you’ll use them. Plus it’s your birthday this month, you deserve it! That said, I often keep things in my car, then put them in “save for later” and never buy them
But these boots seem like something you really want.

Silver, Wizard has a bunch of coffee cups he buys when we go places, and I never buy one. So technically, he doesn’t need one. That said, he is having a great time threatening to “steal” my cup. I will buy him a Halloween one this week if I get out someplace.
That is a perfectly great hack for the iced coffee!! I need to buy an ice cube tray, but that gives me a reason to get my butt to the 99cent store so I can get a couple more mason jars anyway. Thanks!! I’m going to do it!
I am so sorry for Baseball Boy. This situation he’s in is just hard, and I know it well. I hope things resolve in the best way possible, and sometimes it’s hard to know what that even is. Hope your daughter and Stormy are hanging in there too. It’s a lot for everyone, especially since they are physically far enough away to make the whole thing more complicated. Plus BB is trying to gear up for the new school year which just adds more pressure.
Really sorry you guys missed out on your family meal. Of course you’re more concerned about what’s going on, but I know you really enjoy the lunches after the siren test.
Huge Happy Anniversary! It’s a big one for you guys, and you’re amazing together, and an inspiration! But I get the whole low-key thing. We had the same big anniversary, and kept it very minimal because that’s what worked for us. You guys are perfect just the way you are!
