Friday Five

TGIF! How is it Friday again? My calendar swears it is, and therefore, it’s time to share five random things about our week!

  1. The refrigerator is supposed to come today. However I’m writing this blog before I get the confirmation phone call with our time slot, so we’ll see. If they do need to delay the delivery for some reason, I won’t mind as long as they let me know ahead of time. That’s the beauty of buying one before our old one dies :-) I’m just so glad to have the decision made! I should also add that it’s probably best for our budget if I stay away from appliances with all the pretty cooktops and ovens — those are appliances I can actually get excited about. But mine are just fine and I don’t need to get any fancy ideas, LOL!
  2. I use an app called Map My Walk to track my daily miles. I checked it yesterday and discovered I walked 45 miles in August. Okay I exaggerated, it was 44.91 miles :-).  And if I walked it, that means Maggie walked it too. It also explains why my knees are complaining a lot more these days, especially my left one.
  3. I didn’t do much interesting this week. I haven’t been at my normal energy level. It’s so irritating (really, I get mad at myself, like that’s helpful?). But I did make some gluten and dairy free cookies I can eat. I need to make some bread too but can’t seem to carve out the chunk of time I need.  Maybe this weekend!
  4. Biker Witch and I had coffee yesterday then shopped for fun Halloween decorations. I’m up to four now :-) Wizard asked how many I’m going to get, and I just laughed. It was great to see my sister, but I wore out too fast which is super annoying.
  5. This weekend is uncertain, but Turbo has his first T-ball game on Sunday. If I’m not busy, I’m going to drive out there to watch that hilarity of five-year-olds first attempt at T-ball. My biggest hope is that they all have fun! All the skills will come with time and practice. I’m wondering too if I can take Maggie with me. I’ll have to ask Turbo’s mom if dogs are allowed at the field where they play. She would love it!

So that’s my five now I’d love to hear yours. And I hope everyone has a great weekend (with no hurricane action)!

Which fridge did you end up with? And yeah, I on-line peak periodically because new range is needed sooner than later. Way to walk! And that’s forty-five because think of all the walking you did that wasn’t on a Maggie walk!?! Yay for Biker Witch time! And Turbo Ball! I MISS those days! We called it swarm ball. Except for the outfielders. They were too busy picking dandelions. LOLOL I hope you get to go! And I hope Turbo has a blast! And I hope Maggie gets to go. Okay my very lame five:

    1. As you know, book released. This morning, I “broke even” with my Amazon sales so I can pay my cover artist. Also, I’ve been wasting time making “promo” graphics. We’ll see if I get around to posting them on social media. LOL

    2. Have I talked about the panic of my keyboard sticking in all caps? While I was finishing off the last edits and formatting. I popped the key off to see why it was sticking. There was a crumb under there that I blew out and put the key back on. Still ALL CAPS! Completely panicked, I went on-line to see how long it would take to get a keyboard delivered since none were within driving distance. Then I decided to reboot the computer. Everything seemed to be fine so I went to the spot where the correction was all in caps. And no matter what I typed, ALL CAPS!!!! I finally figured out I must have put in some hidden secret code so I backspaced like a whole line and then retyped. Everything worked normally. 🤦🏼‍♀️

    3. Hissy cat showed up wearing a collar! I knew the scam artist belongs somewhere. He is acting less hissy and not so greedy these days so I don’t begrudge his scam.

    4. I saw another (maybe the same) blue parakeet at the bird feeder. I’m hoping it will have the sense to migrate south as the temps chill next week. YES! We are due a REAL cold front! Yippee!!!

    5. It hasn’t happened yet but Stormy’s first soccer match with the new team is tonight. I thought he wanted to be a midfielder so he could run up and down the field, score, and also do defense. Evidently, he keeps volunteering to play goalie at practice so the Kids took him to Academy and bought him a pair of goalie gloves that fit. We’ll be surprised when we get there, I guess. And the fields don’t allow pets. Good thing Jake is a service dog! The old league didn’t care, so long as you cleaned up any oopsies so 🤞🏼 you can take Maggie to Turbo’s game, if you go.

Have a great weekend, all! It’s soccer, college football, soccer for us tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday.

    1. I hope the refrigerator arrived and that all went well.
    2. Wow, you and Maggie did some major walking. Good job but take care of those knees.
    3. Totally understandable that you haven’t had super energy. You had time with Turbo and that takes energy. I hope you get to make your bread.
    4. Always good to spend time with Biker Witch. Good job and Halloween shopping.
    5. Fingers crossed that you and Maggie get to go to Turbo’s ballgame. Those games are so much fun to watch. The littles ones are SO cute.

1a. I did some switching over to Fall decorations. Still have a bit to do but have to be careful not to use any Thanksgiving stuff.
2a. I’ve been over doing it with my arm and it is killing me. Massage scheduled for next Tuesday.
3a. I added to the pain today by scrubbing all the floors.
4a. C and hubs have left for TN. They’ll be back Sunday unless something comes up.
5a. I plan to do more cleaning tomorrow of stuff I can’t get to when hubs is around.

    Have a great weekend!

Silver, we are still waiting for the fridge to show up. It was supposed to be here between 8 and noon, but they apparently changed the delivery order and no one told us until we called. It’s been a long day of waiting. But to answer your question, we got an LG French door with two freezer drawers on the bottom. Only water in the door, but the ice should be easily accessible.

    1) Yay on breaking even! Hopefully you’ll get even more sales as everyone sees the promos!
    2) That caps thing is so weird!!! And why does it always happen when you’re desperately trying to get something done??? I wouldn’t have thought of backspacing an entire line, so glad it worked!! Still very weird.
    3) You always said Hissy Cat had a family :-) But gotta admire his scam ability!
    4) Oh wow, he’s still around? This is the one you thought was likely an escaped pet, right? I sure hope he figures out to migrate too.
    5) Well Stormy is getting a lot of experience which ever position he plays. But goalie is pretty hardcore, isn’t it? It’s been a while since I was involved in soccer :-) And thanks, oldest said I can bring Maggie, but he wants me to go to his house first, so I’ll think about what’s best for her in the heat (if I drive myself, I can leave early).

Hope Stormy has a great first game and you guys have an overall good weekend.

Viki, sorry for the late reply — my blog refused to let me answer you yesterday. Frustrating! So the fridge finally came around 5 and so far, we think we’re going to like it. But yesterday was long and I’m glad it’s over.
I don’t know what’s going on with fatigue lately, but it could just be my RA too since I’m having some joint issues too. And yeah, it was good to see Biker Witch!

    1) I think we’re all ready for fall! Do you have to be careful with Thanksgiving stuff so hubs doesn’t get confused?
    2) I’m so sorry about your arm. I hope the massage next week helps.
    3) I bet scrubbing floors today made it much worse. Sadly, I understand doing it anyway because we want it done. Sure hope you’re resting that arm now.
    4) I hope it’s a fun trip for them with minimal stress.
    5) Yeah, I understand wanting to get things done while hubs is gone, but careful with your sore arm!

Hope you have a good weekend and your arm feels better.
