Friday Five

TGIF!! Can you believe it’s November??? I’m not ready! But the calendar doesn’t care, so I guess the holidays are coming regardless of my readiness :-) Okay,  before we jump into sharing five random things about our week, let me insert that I won’t be able to answer until Saturday (hopefully). It’s crazy time here in our lair, but this too shall pass :-) Now I’ll start with my five things:

  1. My brother-in-law is on his way from the airport as I write this on Thursday afternoon. Wizard is picking him up. Am I ready? Bwhahahaha!! But no matter, he’s easy to have as a houseguest and the sheets on the guest room bed are clean, so I’m kind of ready?
  2. Today is Mike (Wizard’s brother’s) memorial service. Biker witch and Biker hubby are coming over to the house to hang with Maggie. I’m so grateful to not have to worry about her.
  3. Saturday we’ll take brother-in-law back to the airport, and the hopefully catch our breath, and do a bunch of stuff.
  4. Sunday we leave for a short two night trip. I’ll tell you guys about that when we’re back. I’m very much hoping for easy and relaxing.
  5. Tiredness passes right??? So I had a dentist appointment that I was hoping would shed a little light on what is going on in my throat, and a bit on the roof of my mouth. You know what I got? “It’s time for you to see an ENT.” Oh, you mean that thing we’ve been fighting for three long months to do???? Really??? Sigh…I’m sure it’s going to turn out to be something minor and easily addressed, and I’ll be like, “Why did this have to be so hard?”

So that’s my whining, uh, I mean five random things :-) Now I’d love to hear yours! I’ll be here (hopefully) on Saturday to read and answer comments. In the meantime, I hope you all have a fun and fabulous weekend!

Busy life! And both sad and happy times with family. Enjoy your trip! And yeah, medicos are so helpful at times. Okay, my five.

    1. Costume Cat™ was back off an on this week wearing his “new” Security vest.

    2. Pete is up to his Lord of Crazysauce Dreams shennanigans again. Short version: I’m staying at a house in a cemetery in the mountains on a cliff above a river and down below a tugboat chugs by with a GIRAFFE on the front catching rings the “driver” is throwing. My comment, “I could live here.” 🤦🏼‍♀️ A dream interpreter can have a field day with this one!

    3. I made giant soft snickerdoodles for the school auction tonight (Friday). I found a cute plastic “candy” jar with a lid to put the cookies in and grabbed some fall wired ribbon on sale at Hobby Lobby. Evidently, there’s a dessert table and the items are auctioned off. Only asked me to specifically make the snickerdoodles.

    4. And speaking of that making and baking, having old-timers brain, I thought I had bag of sugar in the pantry. I merrily made the cookies but when it came time to make the cinnamon sugar to roll them in before baking, I was down to 2 tablespoons. I needed half a cup. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Keystone cops ensued but they got made and packaged before Baseball Boy arrived to pick them up.

    5. Other stuff probably happened but I don’t remember so I’ll mention that Stormy has a soccer tournament Saturday and Sunday. 300 teams have signed up. Parking will be a nightmare as they don’t have enough parking for regular league play. It’s also the last Bedlam Football Game between our OSU Cowboys and the OU Sooners. 117 games over 120 years and tomorrow is the end of the tradition. It’s also First Saturday so that makes parking logistics even crazier due to siren test scheduled between the two games we know times for.

Hope everyone else’s weekend is calm and peaceful! Have a good one.

    You guys have busy days.

1/3. I’m sure all is fine with Wizard’s brother being a house guest. Like you said, the sheets are clean. I don’t think most men even think about that.

    2. Maggie will be very happy to have Biker Witch and hubby come hang out with her.

    4. Sure hope you have a relaxing trip.

    5. Let me know about that tiredness going away stuff.
We’re all looking forward to you seeing the ENT dr and finding out what it is.

1a. I forgot to tell you that Harrison didn’t get to go Trick or Treating. Instead he got pneumonia and strep. He’s acting much better.

2a. The money FINALLY transferred late this morning. I was all set to get on the phone again when it popped up on my screen.

3a. Our anniversary is this Thursday but we’re having C and C take us to dinner on Saturday. They’ll be our drivers (so I can have a glass of wine) and get a nice meal out of it.

4a. I’m having the gutters cleaned and the exterior of the house cleaned on Monday so I have to move stuff off the deck this weekend. C will help me.

5a. A and Queso may come over on Sunday to take hubs out again. I hope it works out.

I pray the memorial service went well. Have a good weekend and a relaxing trip.

Silver, yep, it’s been busy, but everyone pitching in and helping (like Biker Witch!) makes it so much easier. Okay now for your five:

    1) Costume Cat must have a pretty big closet at home!
    2) You do have interesting dreams. I could not make that one up no matter how much wine I drank, LOL!
    3) Those snickerdoodles in the decorated jars sound so cute! Bet they went fast.
    4) Been there, and done that. It always adds a little drama to the whole baking experience :-) But you heroically persevered.
    5) Yikes! Talk about a busy weekend! I hope you were able to figure out some way to logistically do it all. Or cut yourselves some slack one on o the events.

I hope you and LG are having a good weekend and you guys don’t exhaust yourselves!

Viki, I will definitely let you know if I find a solution to tiredness :-) Okay now for your five:

    1) Oh poor Harrison! That’s so disappointing for him, plus the misery of being sick. But I’m glad he’s better now.
    2) That took too long. I’d have been frantic. But yay for it now being done.
    3) Happy soon to be Anniversary! C and C are awesome to take you do dinner and do the designated driving gig. Hope you have the best time!
    4) Not an exciting chore, but necessary. I’m really glad C is helping you move things.
    5) I hope A and Queso can go over and take hubs out. That’ll be great for hubs, and for you to get a break.

Hope your weekend is going well!
