I’m back!

MWitchHey! I missed  you all!

Thanksgiving went well–15 people for sit down dinner with china etc. Surprising free of disasters.  Note to self: Maybe I should put that much advance planning into writing a book? Then I wouldn’t be frantically rewriting as I am now?

Friday we went to the movies to see THE BLIND SIDE then I spent a couple hours in the afternoon just reading. It was so nice to have a whole day off! No cooking and no working!

Saturday I went back to work. The Wizard is being extremely patient with me. This is how it’s going to be for awhile.

So I finally started reading COVET by JR Ward. I am about three quarters of the way through it. I’m finding the story and characters very intriguing. I can’t quite figure out what’s going to happen. Ward really takes chances and I like that!

The whole using nouns as verbs or making up new words occasionally trips me up but that’s just me. Most people read right over that. Besides making my brain work once in while isn’t a bad thing :-)

Now your turns! Let’s catch up!

Vacation!

Okay, not really a vacation..my week is going to look more like this…

Witch unter computerAlthough I’d probably get more work done if I sat at the computer instead of under it! The twisted point is I’m taking a week off from this blog.

But first, tell me are you celebrating Thanksgiving? Staying home? Going to relatives?

I’m having family out, and I’m really looking forward to it. Guess who I am most excited about? I’ll give you a hint…

He cleans my kitchen floor for me every time he comes to visit :-)

Have a great Thanksgiving witches! Come back next week–we’ll do another cage fight! Also, I’ll be sure to check the comments.

Hunk Fail Friday!

Anyone else tired? I finished the draft of my novella…it needs work. Serious work.  And while I was fretting over that, I stumbled onto this in my “I want to be a hunk!” file…

Hunk failUmm…any comments?

And then I found this “hunk in training” which totally cracked me up!

Is Gas Station Slayer!

Linc says you witches are place some wild bets! Including on whether there would be any wardrobe malfunctions. Is this true?

Linc is bugging me about the next cage fight.  He must have made some good money!

So…that’s all I got today.  How about you guys. Anything interesting going on with you?

Slayer Entertainment Presents…

It’s a cage fight between the Wing Slayer Hunter Candidates! Brought you by Slayer Entertainment.

On the left is Emo Slayer!  Known for his 70′s hair,  Mr T jewelry, creepy stare but admittedly hot body,  he brings extreme moodiness to the fight! Will he hit below the belt? Or will he break into a dark poem about death?

On on the right, is Gas Station Slayer! Straight from pumps, he is always oiled and  primed  for action! There’s some debate about whether he’s a love or a fighter. We’ll settle that today!

Let’s Rumble! And witches to cast your votes.  Who do you think will win? Why?

(And yes, I have lost my mind, in case anyone is wondering. )

P.S.  Key and Phoenix think this is hilarious and swear they are going to stop by.  Axel said,  “Maybe that will keep the witches busy long enough for us to train.”  Ram’s eyes flickered and he said,  “Should check that out and see how they fight. “  Sutton said he’d take on the winner, I nixed that. Sutton is a TANK and I don’t think the newly formed Slayer Enterprises needs any lawsuits.  Oh and the new guy, Linc? I saw him taking bets outside the cage.

Monday Chit Chat

Saturday I hung out with other writer friends. It was so good to get away from the computer!  Of course we talked books and writing–I’ve yet to meet a writer who can avoid the subjects for long!  Saturday night, the Wizard and I went to dinner, came home and hung out in the jacuzzi. Wizard knows how to make an excellent vodka tonics too.   A perfect day to clean my head!

Next month I’ll be giving a talk on world-building at my local RWA meeting.  That’s going to be challenging!  I’m a lot more nervous about it than I thought. Trying to break down how I do it is pretty overwhelming.  These things start out as one idea that grows and changes as the idea matures and develops. I’ll have to really work on how to illustrate that in a talk. And how important it is to reveal the world through the eyes of characters.

I’m finishing BLAZE OF MEMORY and I have to say there was a point where I doubted this book, but now I’m happy I read it.

So how was your weekend?
