You know what? I’m not going to endlessly talk about all the stuff going on with the books. Just this–if all goes well on the technical side of things, I’ll post a link tomorrow (yes Thursday) to where The Official Plus One Chronicles Book Trailer is being released.
Life is crazy in our house right now, so naturally, my side/back thing flared up. But I am a pro at masking pain.
Or so I thought.
After dinner last night, Wizard went outside to cover the BBQ and while he was outside, I might have groaned. He immediately came storming in and said out of the blue, “You should think about pain pills.”
Stunned, I said, “I thought I was hiding this.”
“You can’t hide from me witch.” He was dead serious.
Scrunching up my face in a totally unattractive way, I answered, “No pain pills.” (It’s not bad enough for that, trust me).
“Fine, but I’m doing dishes.”
Uhh….where’s the down side for me there?
My side/back is much better so no worries. And now on to important things. Our candidate for Wing Slayer Worthy!
What’s your vote?
(If I don’t post tomorrow, the Happy Valentine’s Day!)

My local RWA Meeting on Saturday was fantastic. Patrick Brown from Goodreads spoke. His talk was tailored to authors, but the main take-away for me was something I 100% believe: It’s a place for readers to gather and talk about books. As authors we need to always be aware of that and tread carefully. I found Patrick was open, charming and very friendly.
For the question people have asked about reviewers rating books before they could possibly have read them; the answer was pretty simple. There is no way for Goodreads to know if a reviewer got a copy or the book or not. Unless a review is offensive or off topic, it’s unlikely it will be taken down.
In addition to a great program, I saw a lot of old friends. I enjoyed that so much, I wouldn’t shut up when I finally got home. Poor Wizard listened to me rambling on and on patiently, and then smirked and said, “I was right in telling you to go. Say it, say I was right.”
It took him feeding me a glass and a half of wine to get me to say it
I can’t believe how fast the approximate release date of February 26th for THE PROPOSITION is coming! Right now, I’m trying to get one more thing added to the formatted files. And then on March 4th THE BABY BARGAIN (under my Jennifer Apodaca name) should be out. I can’t imagine what I was thinking trying to handle both these releases and get POSSESSION written.
I’m still waiting for the website makeover. My web designer is backlogged too.
If anyone wants to hop over to Goodreads and mark the book for your reading shelves, here is the link to the three books in The Plus One Chronicles (THE PROPOSITION is book one).
So how was your weekend?

Another insane week. My Firefox browser crashed the other day, that was fun. I managed to get it back, so I’m not complaining. It could have been much worse.
You know what floors me? I to go for a routine medical test. (Which everyone knows makes me cranky, but I did it! And it’s really routine, nothing is wrong with me.) But the technician doing the test found out that I’m a writer and insisted I tell him how much money I make. I mean he would not let it go. Talk about uncomfortable.
Tomorrow, I’m going to my local chapter meeting. Patrick Brown from Goodreads is our speaker, so that should be really interesting. I’m really REALLY slammed on work, but Wizard insists I need to get out and I think he’s right. So I’m going
What are you doing this weekend?
Have a great weekend!

Wizard called me yesterday about four and said, “Guess what? A friend is in town from out of state and I’m bringing him home for dinner in an hour.”
I know what you’re thinking, but Wizard is still alive. We went out to dinner, and lucky for Wizard, I was thrilled to see our friend. We had a great time. But seriously, Wizard, a little more notice next time????
Okay here is our candidate (can’t remember if I showed him before).
So what do you think? Wing Slayer Worthy?

Biker Witch and I had a great lunch! We ate this:
Okay we EACH had our own. There, I admitted it.
Sunday I made and ate a bunch of these:
I don’t know why. I tend to do that when I’m stressed about plotting. When I’m truly upset, I rarely eat. But plotting stress drives me to bake and eat. Bad bad witch! Especially since I can’t work out much this week.
Otherwise, my weekend was good. I’m plotting/writing up some stuff for Entangled, plus I ordered post cards for The Plus One Chronicles.
I’m still super jazzed over–wait for it– the AWESOME booktrailer we have for the three books; THE PROPOSITION, POSSESSION and OBSESSION. We’re going to do a big reveal on Valentine’s Day on Carla’s Book Monster blog. Maybe give away a few things. But I gotta tell you all, this book trailer EXCEEDED my expectations. I wrote the script, found the pics, and with the designer’s help, chose the music. Throughout all this, Carla was a huge help too. But the real magic came from Rasit of Rasit Creations I can’t wait to show you guys this trailer!I think it captures the heart of the series!
I want to quickly add (cuz I know I’m going on and on) that I have an incredible and talented team. Carla (virtual assistant), Trish (cover artist), Sasha Knight (one of the best editors I’ve ever worked with!), my trusted first reader, Marianne Donley, my three friends/colleagues that I rely on — Laura, Maureen and Kate. Laura in particular knows exactly when to kick my ass and when to hold my hand. Now I’m adding Rasit, and another designer Ana. Oh and my web designer (she’s working on a new design) Frauke. And this is just some of them.
And every single one of you
Okay moving on, I know yesterday was the Superbowl–so did your team win? As I write this, Wizard is yelling at his team. He’s going to be a bear to live with if he loses!
How was your weekend?

I blinked and it’s Friday! How did that happen? It’s just been a crazy week. I’m working on POSSESSION and by working, I mean, write, delete, write, cut-and-move-fix-write-delete-move-again…
My process sucks. A lot.
But in good news, some early reviews for PROPOSITION are trickling in, and they are good! And when Carla (my assistant) sent me the reviews, she said, “Told You PROPOSITION is good, now stop worrying!”
LOL! She knows me so well. She is also working her butt off right now and I appreciate it so much. We’re planning a special Valentines Day event probably on her Book Monster Reviews Blog, I’ll tell you all more once we have it finalized.
But tomorrow, I’m going to hang out with Biker Witch! So excited, I need to get out. And Biker Witch has started to do some volunteer work with dogs, so I can’t wait to hear all about that. I’m so jealous, but really happy for her.
So what are your weekend plans?
Happy Friday and Have A Great Weekend!
