I’ve been going nonstop for three days! I need a day home to take a break. How do I know this? Because I lost a hunk.

**Hangs head in shame**

Yep it’s true. I had a bald, sexy, hunk wearing sunglasses, and giving off a tough bodyguard vibe. But I accidentally hit my back key, exited the website where I buy the rights, and then couldn’t find him again. Grrrr!

So yeah, I lost a hunk, and I probably need a day home to regroup, and also, write my fricken’ book! I have a lot of ideas to get this baby to work, but I need some quiet time to do it.

Anyhow, I pulled this guy out of mothballs (I’m kidding, people, I don’t really store hunks in mothballs…I lock them in my basement. Okay, still kidding, I don’t have a basement :-).) I like him for his pose that screams,  I’m super cool.

What do you think? Is he worthy?

I imagine I’m going to be sore today after having a Turbo-day yesterday. How much work can one 11 month old boy be, you ask? I mean look at this face, he’s an angel, right? (This is him with his dad after they got home)

Overall, Turbo was pretty good for me and his aunt–until we tried to change his diaper.

His mom warned us. Then she laughed when she got home and when we described that feat of sheer teamwork, speed and strength to we summoned to change one baby’s diaper. Then she said, “Sometimes it takes three of us.” Meaning, her, my son and one of her parents who live nearby. She’s NOT kidding!

I told her the truth–she could have an entire football team and it’d still be a struggle! That cracked her up even more! Turbo is a busy boy with no time for silliness like diaper changes. For the record, neither Turbo’s aunt, nor myself are wimps (I had three boys in five years), that kid had a clean diaper on, was fully dressed and shoes when his parents came home! Okay, yes, he had a little food stain on his shirt, but he was fully dressed!

And guess what we got for our amazing efforts?

Cupcakes! Yes, Special K and CPA Boy brought us home cupcakes because we are awesome babysitters   Not a bad gig at all! FYI, the cupcakes were totally unnecessary but very enjoyable! I had a chocolate cupcake with mocha frosting–yum. After I ate it, I discovered it was a healthy vegan cupcake. Sneaky!! But it tasted good so what do I care?

The rest of the weekend was good. I did some writing (slow!) and I finally won the battle of the vacuum. Wizard actually “let” me vacuum the downstairs I really is the first time I’ve vacuumed since the surgery because Wizard…well…he’s Wizard. But he’s relaxing more and more.

Today, if I feel up to it, I’ll go the gym. But if I’m sore from lifting Turbo, I’ll wait. I won’t jeopardize all the progress I’m making! I’ve pushed pretty hard this last week.

And one last thing: Under “puzzling” stuff, Maggie had developed a sudden, unusual fear of the ding-alerts from Wizard’s cell phone makes. It truly was sudden, and we’re not sure what set it off. She came to us a year-and-a-half ago with a lot of fear and anxiety that solid structure and exercise has helped tremendously, so this caught us by surprise. We’re trying to ignore it, and if that doesn’t work, then we’ll try to get her passed it by doing the noises throughout the day when she’s distracted. I could easily ask Wizard to change the sounds, but I’d rather help her work through it. This small incident has been a big reminder of how far Maggie has come in developing confidence and coping skills. This is just a blimp we’ll figure out over time.

Well that was another fast week! So youngest (BLB) called last night to chat, and now I’m writing this blog in a rush. It’s all his fault Here’s my Friday Five!

1. It’s snowing in some parts of our town. We’re hoping it snows here sometime during (last) night!
2. I went to the gym for the first time this week. I’m barely sore and mostly in my calves. Of course, Wizard went with me to make sure I didn’t do anything stupid I was grateful for his help because it’s all new equipment at the gym since the last time I was there, and I plan to go with him a few more times before I do it on my own.
3. I’ve been writing, but progress is elusive since I keep reorganizing to find the right pacing. But as Wizard points out, I can write again for a few hours without pain, so that’s a win.
4. I made a new recipe last night: Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Wizard ate it all, and said he liked it, although it was a bit spicy for him. I liked it too.
5. This weekend I’m babysitting my grandson Turbo for a couple of hours! Wizard is going racing with Middle Son, so Middle Son’s wife (I must come up with a name for her, she’s our family chef, wine connoisseur and volunteers at a pet rescue–there’s so much to choose from!) is coming over to help with the Turbo Machine. We’ll have fun together with Turbo! I’m so looking forward to that.

We had a great weekend. Everyone came over for Youngest birthday on Sunday. Turbo turned 11 months old yesterday, and he’s gone from beginning walker to an expert in a week. He was all over and having a great time. Of course it rained, and Wizard was out barbecuing tri tip and chicken in it, but he did a great job.

Today I’m going to try to go to the gym, I’d say there’s about a 50/50 chance I’ll actually go, especially if it’s raining I’m definitely writing today!

It’s time for Friday Five:

1. Wowzers, did we get rain! I think the worst of it is over as I type this, but Yikes! We were worried, and a few miles down the road from us, the runoff was so bad, it collapsed the foundation of a house. The street that divides us from the hills is closed with mud, but we’re fine so far! Talk about Murphy’s Law–we’re in a drought for years, then we have a massive forest fire, followed by the most rain in a decade or more!
2. Very little writing My restructure is working so far, but I need a breakthrough here. Next week!
3. Happy Belated Valentines Day to everyone! Wizard and I planned to have dinner at a little Italian place my our house. I’m writing this blog before we leave, but that’s the plan unless we can’t get there due to road closures rom the rain.
4. All this rain makes Maggie sad. She misses her walks, and sticks close to us.
5. We’re celebrating Youngest son’s birthday this weekend. We’re having all the family to my house, but I’m keeping it pretty simple. I’ll be baking some non-dairy cookies which is a first, so we’ll see how that turns out. Youngest is so forgiving, I’m not too worried.

But let’s move onto our candidate for today. And let me just say that I don’t care how hot he is, if he’s not bringing me decadent chocolate cake, I’m not interested. I’ve wanted good chocolate cake since last August and been doomed to repeated disappointment   Umm…did I get off topic? Anyway…
